Happy New Year

15 lasers turned out for our annual NYD race. Beautiful weather, great close races.

Thanks to John Sawyer for running the races. Thanks to Rick for having us over for

some great fun, chowder and chatter.

Posted the Fall series scores as well as the ocean races from CYC in 2011.

Hear Sterling and Anne are heading to the OCR to do some RC work .

Hope to see a big group of CYC 'ers at the SAYRA convention in Hilton Head.

Was nice and warm last year.

Laser Sailors,

Mother Nature served us up a perfect day for Laser Racing on New Years day! Temperatures in the upper 60’s and winds in the 8 to 14 knot range with plenty of sunshine. Many thanks to John Sawyer who singlehandedly ran 8 short races back to back, resetting the start and finish line in every race. Also thanks to Rick and JoAnne Campbell for hosting everyone for dinner and drinks at their house afterward.

We had 15 Lasers on the line for 8 races. Close racing with lots of traffic at the mark rounding’s and close finishes. One race, I saw 9 boats finish overlapped. At the end of the day counting one throw out, Martin and Glen were tied with 13 points each with Martin getting the nod based on 3 firsts to Glens 2 firsts. Third with 3 firsts, but not as consistent was Greg Zack with 29 points, followed closely by First Junior, Daniel Birmingham. Rounding out the top 5 and First Radial was Parks Blair.
